Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

The Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant to join their rapidly expanding team. This role involves assisting physicians in patient care and education, assessing physical and psychosocial status, and managing treatment plans for oncology patients. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in clinical trials, patient triaging, and multidisciplinary rounds, contributing to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.

• Write prescriptions for medication, blood products based upon laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and care post-discharge in accordance with written practice protocols.

• Determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials based on findings.

• Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests.

• Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.

• Dictate or write patient history, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely manner.

• Conduct or participate in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure appropriate and quality care.

• Provide on-call coverage and perform hospital rounds as needed.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $92,500 - $152,875

• $15,000 sign on bonus

Shift & Schedule

• Standard Core Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime.

• Provide on-call coverage and performs hospital rounds as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program.

• Master's degree required.

• APRN or PA license in appropriate state.

• Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.

• Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P).

• Current BLS.

• Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, specifically in Oncology.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
