Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Medical Oncology

CoxHealth is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their Medical Oncology Hematology team in Springfield, Missouri. This role involves collaborating with physicians to provide advanced nursing care, clinical decision-making, and case management. The Nurse Practitioner will perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and prescribe therapies for patients.

Responsibilities

• Works in collaboration with a physician for assistance in clinical decision-making, case management and evaluation of performance

• Provides advanced nursing care and treatment to patients

• Performs physical examinations

• Orders diagnostic tests

• Develops treatment plans

• Prescribes drugs or other therapies

• May also plan, direct, or coordinate medicine and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, public health agencies, or similar organizations

Requirements

• Education: Masters of Science in Nursing

• Required: No Prior Experience Required

• Preferred: 1-2 years experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams

• Proficient computer skills

• Required: MO Nurse Practitioner license

• Successful completion of all department specific credentialing within first 90 days of employment
