Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hematology/Oncology

Physicians' Clinic of Iowa's Department of Hematology/Oncology is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate-Certified to join their dedicated team. Responsibilities

• Perform medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultation, and health education

• Assess patient health concerns; diagnose and determine treatment plan

• Order treatment, therapy and prescriptions as needed

• Obtain patient histories and develop patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy

• Provide health education to families, and/or community health practitioners and groups within area of specialty

• Support quality care and positive patient outcomes for general Hematology Oncology patients

Requirements

• Current, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license or Physician Associate license

• Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Clinical expertise in the management of acute and chronic conditions related to cancer and blood disorders, preferred

• Previous oncology experience and oncology certification preferred

• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines

• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills

• Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems

• Commitment to patient care and teamwork

• Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality

• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices
