Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Role Description The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform nuclear cardiology imaging procedures and related technical tasks in an outpatient cardiology practice. This part-time, on-site role is based in North Reading, MA and involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, positioning patients, and operating nuclear imaging equipment according to established protocols. The technologist will verify physician orders, follow radiation safety procedures, monitor patients during exams, and document imaging results in the practice’s systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining quality control for equipment, managing supplies, and collaborating with cardiologists and staff to ensure accurate, timely studies and a safe, respectful patient experience. The role also requires adherence to regulatory standards, infection control practices, and practice policies.

Qualifications
• Current certification or registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent nuclear medicine technologist credential.
• Demonstrated expertise in Nuclear Medicine procedures, including cardiac imaging and related diagnostic protocols.
• Strong knowledge of Radiation Safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Experience working with Radiopharmaceuticals, including preparation, dosing, administration, and documentation.
• State licensure (as applicable for Massachusetts) and compliance with all regulatory and professional standards.
• Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols, maintain accurate records, and use imaging and practice management systems.
• Effective communication skills, professional bedside manner, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
• Previous experience in a cardiology or hospital imaging setting is preferred.
• Ability to place intravenous lines.
