Role Description The Nuclear Medicine Technologist role at Midwest Nuclear Services, LLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Springfield, MO. The technologist will perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, positioning patients, and operating imaging equipment in accordance with established protocols. Responsibilities include monitoring patients for adverse reactions, maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper calibration and quality control of equipment, and complying with radiation safety and regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide clear, high-quality images and relevant technical information. The technologist will also participate in maintaining a clean, safe work environment and support continuous improvement in patient care practices.
Qualifications
• Certification or eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent credential, demonstrating competency in nuclear imaging procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Nuclear Medicine principles and practices, including imaging protocols, patient preparation, and quality assurance techniques.
• Experience working with Radiopharmaceuticals, including safe handling, preparation, administration, and documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Solid understanding of Radiation Safety, including use of protective equipment, monitoring exposure, and adherence to federal, state, and institutional safety standards.
• Foundational knowledge of Medicine and human anatomy/physiology to support accurate imaging and effective communication with clinical teams.
• Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology program; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Current state licensure (or eligibility) as required by Missouri regulations for nuclear medicine technologists.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
• Willingness to participate in continuing education, learn new technologies, and adapt to evolving clinical standards.
