Nuclear Medicine Technologist

RWJ Hamilton seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in an acute care setting. The technologist will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate gamma cameras and related imaging equipment, process and analyze images, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR. This role collaborates closely with radiologists, nurses, and other clinicians to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. The technologist follows ALARA principles, maintains regulatory and quality standards, participates in QA activities, and supports a compassionate, community-focused environment aligned with RWJ Hamilton's mission.

Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures according to physician orders and protocols
• Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
• Operate gamma cameras and related nuclear medicine imaging equipment
• Process, analyze, and archive images using PACS and related software
• Verify patient identity, history, consent, and pregnancy/radiation status
• Apply radiation safety and ALARA principles for patients, self, and staff
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and EMR entries for all studies
• Ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards
• Perform quality control and routine equipment checks, reporting issues promptly
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care
