Nuclear Medicine Tech (Nuclear Medicine Technologist #)

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic Nuclear Medicine exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. Join our team as a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist, supporting a collaborative imaging team with flexible scheduling and opportunities to pick up shifts across multiple Intermountain locations.

Shift: PRN (as needed); Coverage primarily Monday–Friday

Flexible PRN scheduling based on availability

Alta View Hospital

May pick up shifts at Riverton Hospital, LDS Hospital, or Intermountain Medical Center

Opportunity to pick up additional shifts across multiple facilities

Rotating holiday coverage Reviews images for quality and accuracy and completes studies within expected timeframes

Follows radiation safety standards, including NRC and regulatory requirements for radiopharmaceuticals

Adheres to infection control, sterile technique, and safety protocols

Operates imaging equipment and systems to produce high-quality images

Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, QC, and equipment issue reporting

Assists with training students and team members as needed American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

IV certification for healthcare providers One year of clinical Nuclear Medicine experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Nuclear Medicine & Radiopharmaceutical handling

Safety, Infection Control & Emergency Response Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
