Job Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health is looking for a dedicated full-time Nuclear Medicine Specialist in Somerville, NJ.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
Preferred:
• PET Experience is a plus
• Minimum of two years hospital experience as a staff technologist
Certifications and Licenses Required:
• Must possess a current NJ State license, ARRT, and/or NMTCB certification
• BLS certification
Scheduling Requirements:
• Day Shift, 40 hours/week
• Full-Time Schedule
Essential Functions:
• Handle all hot lab functions including the receiving, use, and disposal of Radio-pharmaceuticals in strict accordance with vendor, departmental, and regulatory guidelines.
• Calibrate dose calibrators and conduct QC procedures on gamma cameras, reporting any issues promptly.
• Verify patient identities following hospital SOP prior to procedures.
• Clearly explain procedures to patients, including wait times, ensuring maximum comfort throughout.
• Utilize prescribed technical parameters to obtain the best possible images.
• Ensure all tests are performed accurately and results are valid before patient discharge.
• Assist nuclear physicians with special imaging procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized department.
• Complete special assignments from supervisors on time.
• Comply with standards established by the hospital and regulatory agencies.
• Work cooperatively and courteously with physicians, patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
• Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions from peers or superiors for departmental tasks.
• Identify appropriate times to discuss different work strategies.
• Perform additional departmental duties as assigned.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Assist with non-technical tasks within the department.
• Be open to performing other duties as required.
