Nuclear Medicine Specialist

You will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate advanced nuclear medicine equipment, and ensure the safety and comfort of our patients. Key Responsibilities
• Execute nuclear medicine imaging procedures as directed by physicians while adhering to all safety protocols
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring precise documentation for patient safety
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot gamma cameras and related imaging systems with proficiency
• Monitor and support patients before, during, and after imaging procedures, focusing on their safety and comfort
• Follow stringent radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards to promote a safe environment
• Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to enhance diagnostic effectiveness
• Maintain quality control records and actively contribute to accreditation processes
• Deliver compassionate, faith-aligned care and educate patients about procedures and outcomes

Required Skills
• Expertise in nuclear medicine imaging procedures
• Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration
• Skilled in operating gamma cameras and SPECT/CT technology
• Solid understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Proficient in patient monitoring and care throughout imaging processes
• Experience with quality control and equipment calibration
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation
• Compliance knowledge with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., NRC, state regulations)
• Venipuncture and IV access capabilities
• Ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy and pathology
