Duties & Responsibilities:
Chief purpose:
To provide specialized imaging interpretation in the Division of
Nuclear Medicine with the use of state-of-the-art equipment. This
full-time nuclear medicine position will train residents in the
large, highly productive academic radiology department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Teaching Provide training to medical students, residents
& fellows who rotate through the Division of Nuclear Medicine
including Nuclear Medicine residency, Radiology residency,
Cardiology fellowship, Radiation Oncology residency, medical
student elective and serve as advisor to Nuclear Medicine
technologist program, School of Allied Health.
• Research Oversight and implementation of clinical
research involving Nuclear Medicine facilities, including review of
protocols involving Nuclear Medicine imaging services and
radiopharmaceuticals treatments.
• Service Time and effort is expected to be devoted to
academic service-related activities. This shall include college,
school, and departmental committee work, professional growth, and
other such assignments.
• Clinical Provide high quality sub-specialized imaging
interpretations for assigned modalities in support of the referring
physicians and patients of the VCUHS. Responsibilities include all
facets of nuclear medicine (general planar imaging, SPECT and
SPECT/CT, PET/CT, nuclear cardiology and radiopharmaceutical
therapies). Special interest or skills in acute care imaging,
Oncology and Pediatric Imaging.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of
respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,
staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a
commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
• Applicants should be Board Eligible/Certified in Nuclear
Medicine with experience in the full scope of Nuclear Medicine
services
• Candidate must have a current license to practice medicine in
Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure
• Must be eligible for permanent employment in the USA
