Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie is seeking a passionate and experienced Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Generalist to support professional nursing practice, education, onboarding, competency management, and clinical development within our Medical Surgical and Oncology service lines. Position Summary

The NPD Generalist serves as a clinical educator and professional development resource for nursing staff. Responsibilities include coordinating orientation programs, assessing learning needs, developing and delivering educational initiatives, supporting competency validation, and promoting evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.

Essential Duties:

Assess and identify educational and professional development needs of nursing staff.

Design, develop, coordinate, and deliver educational programs and competency-based training.

Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and transition-to-practice programs.

Support clinical staff development through coaching, mentoring, and consultation.

Assist with quality improvement, regulatory readiness, and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Collaborate with nursing leaders to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Evaluate educational outcomes and implement improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Current RN license.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Minimum 2 Years Of Recent Inpatient Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Nursing Experience.

Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred:

Oncology experience in an inpatient or ambulatory setting strongly preferred.

Previous educator, preceptor, charge nurse, or professional development experience.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• You will create and assess professional development programs aligned with current methodologies to promote ongoing learning.
• You'll identify the needs of our staff, work closely with various teams, and modify educational material to suit those needs.
• You will help implement education plans. You will create a positive environment to reach our goals.
• You'll design and assess educational activities and projects. You'll engage team members and implement evidence-based content.
• Use reliable methods to evaluate program outcomes. Involve learners in evaluation and adjust material based on data collected.
• You'll build relationships with various community education programs and weave ethics through all aspects of your educational practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• At least (2) two years of pertinent experience is essential.
• (RN) Registered Nurse license and (BLS) Basic Life Support certification. If not BLS certified yet, they must obtain it within (30) thirty days of hire.
