Job Description
Oncology Medical Scribe / Clinical Administrative Specialist
• Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with full benefits; not a temporary job)
• Location: York, PA 17408 – Onsite
• Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday – Friday daylight hours; primarily on-site with potential flexibility to work remotely on Wednesdays; no evenings, weekends, or holidays required)
• New Hire Starting Base Pay: $20.10 – $22.62 per hour (Starting salary placement is determined by direct medical scribe, medical office, or transcription/coding experience.)
• Future Earning Potential: Position salary range progresses up to $30.17 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and administrative/clinical career ladder advancement.
Mandatory Qualifications
• Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent with four (4) years of experience in a medical office, medical transcription, or billing/coding required, OR
• Associate degree (or equivalent) with two (2) years of experience in a medical office, medical transcription, or billing/coding required.
• Experience & Skills: Prior medical scribe, transcription, or oncology office experience required.
Strong typing skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment required.
• Systems Knowledge: Required fluency in medical terminology, English, and basic knowledge of ICD-10 coding.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems required.
• Communication: Adaptability to learn physician preferences, observe verbal/non-verbal patient communication to provide education, and guide patients through checkout and exam room departures.
How You'll Make an Impact
• Real-Time Clinical Documentation: Accurately summarize and document provider-patient conversations, charting exam details, chief complaints, assessments, and treatment recommendations directly into the EMR.
• Physician & Patient Flow Support: Accompany physicians during clinical visits, anticipate provider needs, monitor exam room supplies, and assist patients with physical limitations or exam room exiting.
• Practice & Work Queue Management: Assist with front-office tasks including call handling, scanning, medical record abstracting, patient check-in/check-out, charge entry, and work queue maintenance.
• Care Coordination & Scheduling: Notify providers of schedule updates or emergencies, print lab reports, guide patients to the front desk, and ensure proper follow-up appointments are scheduled.
