Job Description
Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia is seeking a PhD scientist or neuro-oncologist physician-scientist to join its Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery. The successful candidate will establish and lead a robust basic and translational research laboratory focused on glioma. This role offers a collaborative environment within a large academic health system, serving a diverse patient population across Philadelphia, South NJ, and Delaware.
Practice Info
• Collaborative team including four neurosurgeons, three neuro-oncologists, and three CNS radiation oncologists
• Works closely with clinicians and researchers at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center and the Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience
• Weekly tumor board and pathology review meetings
• Active in clinical trials and translational research
• Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health is an NCI-designated consortium cancer center
• Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center offers outstanding shared core facilities
Responsibilities
• Run a strong basic and translational research laboratory focused on glioma
• Outpatient clinic taking care of patients with benign and malignant primary and metastatic brain tumors (for physicians)
Compensation
• Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with professional experience and qualifications

• Full-Time
Requirements
• MD/DO or PhD degree required
• No visa sponsorship available
• Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University
