Position Summary
The Regional Key Account Manager — Albertsons, will own the day-to-day management and growth of the Albertsons Companies business, including all Albertsons divisions (e.g., Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's/Star Market, Tom Thumb, Randalls, ACME, Vons/Pavilions, and others). This role is responsible for selling in new product items across the bars, drinks, and candy categories, building and managing a promotional calendar, driving incremental merchandising at retail, and owning the account P&L to ensure net revenue and profitability targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & New Item Sell-In
• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for Albertsons corporate and division-level category managers and buyers.
• Sell in new product items across all three categories — bars, drinks, and candy — leveraging syndicated data, shopper insights, and category management story-telling to secure distribution.
• Prepare and present line reviews, new item presentations, and quarterly business reviews.
• Monitor distribution, voids, and new item performance by division; develop action plans to close gaps.
Promotional Planning & Trade Management
• Create, sell in, and manage a monthly promotional calendar across all Albertsons divisions, aligned with brand priorities, seasonal windows, and retailer programs.
• Plan and execute promotions within trade budget; track promotional effectiveness (lift, ROI) and refine the calendar based on results.
• Manage promotional contracts, and internal trade planning systems accurately and on time.
Retail Execution & Secondary Placements
• Secure incremental secondary display placements (end caps, shippers, checklane, cooler placements, cross-merchandising) at both the division and store level.
• Partner closely with our field sales team to communicate priorities, sell-in tools, and display targets, and to ensure flawless execution of secondary placements and promotional displays in-store.
• Conduct regular market visits and store audits to assess execution, identify opportunities, and build relationships with store and district leadership.
Financial & P&L Ownership
• Own and manage the Albertsons account P&L, including gross-to-net planning, trade spend, slotting, and deductions.
• Deliver against monthly, quarterly, and annual net revenue and profitability targets.
• Provide accurate rolling volume forecasts to demand planning and finance; flag risks and opportunities early.
• Analyze post-promotional and shipment/consumption data to inform planning and improve trade efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with marketing, demand planning, finance, and supply chain to support account needs.
• Communicate account status, wins, risks, and competitive activity to sales leadership on a regular cadence.
Qualifications
Required:
• 3-5 years of CPG account sales experience; food & beverage strongly preferred.
• Understanding of grocery retail; direct or indirect experience with Albertsons or another major grocery retailer is a plus.
• Working knowledge of syndicated data (SPINS, Circana/IRI, Nielsen) and ability to build data-driven selling stories.
• Strong financial acumen; comfort managing trade budgets and reading a P&L.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
Preferred:
• Experience selling into Albertsons corporate or divisions, experience
• Familiarity with trade promotion management systems.
• Experience in the active nutrition, snacking, beverage, or confection categories.
