This field-based role serves as the local medical voice of AZ in the disease area of interest and builds a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes in the assigned territory. The territory is New England, including Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.

You will establish yourself as a trusted scientific advisor, peer and expert to both internal stakeholders and external HCPs (e.g. function as an expert in response to scientific questions). You will synthesize HCP insights from multiple HCP segments within a region and communicate those insights with internal partners, acting as a point of reference for the integration of science into proposed business strategies, training, and resources. You will synthesize and integrate research and summarize findings into compelling narratives for various HCP segments, and build strong collaboration with key stakeholders across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Development.

In this role you may serve as a lead for clinical trials, research activities, and special projects. Coaching other team members, providing input on MSL training content, assisting with MSL onboarding and leading MSLs in their responsibilities for congress scientific coverage and data synthesis support are also part of the role.

Qualifications and experience are described below; please note the exact wording and requirements:

- Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, Ph. D, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical field

- 2 plus years experience as a Medical Science Liaison or relevant experience in the therapeutic area

- Demonstrated expertise in delivering customer-related outcomes in targeted field/territory

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate scientific data to internal and external customers

- Ability to work independently and in groups

- Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative and problem-solving skills

- Excellent project management ability

- Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic)

Preferred qualifications the company lists explicitly:

- Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline

- Prior Medical Science Liaison experience

- Oncology experience

- Hematology experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $174,455-$261,682. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles).
