About the Role
An established regional health system is seeking a Medical Oncology Physician to provide locum coverage across multiple outpatient oncology locations in eastern Indiana. This opportunity features a consistent four-day clinical schedule, collaborative APP support, and shared telephone call responsibilities.
Position Highlights
• Four-day workweek (Tuesday-Friday, Mondays off)
• Mix of hospital-based and outpatient oncology care
• Practice at multiple clinic locations with scheduled outreach coverage
• Shared telephone call with APP support; limited in-person call requirements
• Epic EMR
• Ongoing locum opportunity with multiple providers accepted

Job Responsibilities: - Evaluate and manage adult hematology/oncology patients across outpatient and inpatient settings
- Develop treatment plans, monitor chemotherapy/immunotherapy patients, and coordinate multidisciplinary cancer care
- Rotate between primary clinic and outreach locations while maintaining continuity of care
- Provide shared after-hours telephone call support, collaborating with APPs for patient management
- Complete timely documentation, order entry, and clinical records within Epic
Qualifications: - MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Medical Oncology
- Active Indiana medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
- BLS required; ACLS if requesting conscious sedation privileges
- Case logs required for presentation
- Strong collaborative and patient-centered approach to oncology care
Working Hours: - Tuesday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Mondays off
- Shared evening and weekend telephone call rotation (schedule determined by the facility)
- Outreach clinic coverage on scheduled weekdays
