Medical Oncology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a passionate and driven Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients, with a focus on rural healthcare. The incumbent will be based in the Chaska clinic, with regular travel to Waconia and Ridgeview Medical Center in Arlington, MN.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients

• Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated

• Performs procedures with minimal supervision

• Assesses patient/family needs and provides education

• Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs

• Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion

• Likely to provide case management for patients and their families

• Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls

Compensation

• $100,000-$180,000 annually, prorated by FTE

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education

• Nurse Practitioner: Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner

• Nurse Practitioner: Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP

• Nurse Practitioner: Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred

• Nurse Practitioner: Previous experience in oncology preferred

• Physician Assistant: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program

• Physician Assistant: Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant

• Physician Assistant: Previous experience in oncology preferred

• Physician Assistant: Current MN state licensure and current CPR certification required

• Physician Assistant: Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
