Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Epic Care, a physician-led, multi-specialty organization, is seeking a full-time Certified APP (NP or PA) to join their medical oncology service line. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team in Contra Costa County, providing high-quality, personalized patient care. Practice Info

• Physician-led, multi-specialty organization with over 40 physicians.

• Medical oncology service line.

• Located throughout the East Bay Area, with clinic locations in Contra Costa County.

Responsibilities

• Provide hematology & medical oncology specialty patient care in inpatient and outpatient care settings.

• Perform physical exams and patient observations.

• Record patient medical histories and symptoms.

• Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.

• Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.

• Diagnose health issues.

• Detect changes in a patient's health and change treatment plans as necessary.

• Administer medicines and treatments.

• Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.

• Consult with healthcare professionals, participate in tumor boards.

• Train patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention.

Compensation

• Annual salary (depending on skills/experience): $145,000 - $175,000

Requirements

• Appropriate degree from an accredited program.

• Must have an active NP and PA licensure in the state of California.

• Must have prescriptive authorization, active DEA license.

• Oncology experience is preferred but not required.

• Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese or other language is preferred.

• Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment required by the work.

• Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as electronic medical records.

• Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.

• Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
