Job Description
We are looking for a Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible Medical Oncologist to join a collegial team in Richmond, Indiana, on a locum tenens basis. This role is primarily outpatient, offers a predictable weekday schedule, and includes shared call coverage with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and other team members who are committed to high‑quality, patient‑centered cancer care.
Schedule and Setting
• Clinic days: Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1‑hour unpaid lunch)
• Mondays off
• Practice: Outpatient oncology clinic with assigned call coverage
Call Expectations
• Night call on select weekdays (specific schedule to be determined)
• Weekend call rotation (specific schedule to be determined)
• Serve as both primary and backup physician for APPs during call shifts
Clinical Responsibilities
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with solid tumor and hematologic malignancies
• Create and manage individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
• Provide follow‑up care and ongoing disease management, reviewing labs, pathology, and imaging to guide care
• Collaborate closely with APPs, infusion staff, nurses, pharmacists, and consulting specialists to ensure coordinated, comprehensive treatment
• Support APPs clinically during assigned call coverage
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation
Required Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
• Active Indiana medical license or eligibility via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification if requesting conscious sedation privileges
• Current DEA registration, if applicable
