Role Overview

This position is for a clinically competent, certified advanced practice clinician specializing in medical oncology and hematology care. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, management of complex cases, symptom control, survivorship planning, and patient education in collaboration with physicians. The practitioner supports infusion services, manages acute care needs, and provides inpatient and outpatient coverage, including administering intrathecal chemotherapy and participating in after-hours call rotations.

Responsibilities Include

• Performing assessments and managing treatment plans for oncology and hematology patients.
• Supporting infusion centers and managing side effects and infusion reactions.
• Developing survivorship and palliative care plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Providing patient education and counseling on diagnosis, therapy, and side effect management.
• Collaborating with healthcare providers for inpatient admissions, discharges, and acute care.
• Participating in after-hours triage and urgent care needs.

Qualifications And Skills

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Experience in oncology clinical or nursing roles.
• Licensure as an advanced practice clinician in the relevant state, with DEA and BLS certifications.
• Essential skills include strong communication, computer literacy, confidentiality, crisis management, and experience with electronic health records.
