Medical Oncologist & Hematologist

Hope & Healing Cancer Services (HHCS) is seeking a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join our growing community-based oncology practice and clinical research program.

This is a unique opportunity for a physician interested in combining high-quality patient care with clinical research and access to emerging cancer therapies.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, hormonal therapies, and supportive treatments
• Provide physician oversight of outpatient infusion services
• Monitor treatment response, toxicity, laboratory results, and adverse effects
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with referring physicians and specialists
• Participate in hospital consultation, rounding, and physician call coverage as assigned
Clinical Research
• Serve as an Investigator on sponsored clinical trials
• Identify and evaluate potentially eligible clinical trial patients
• Review protocol eligibility, laboratory results, ECGs, imaging, adverse events, and other medically relevant study documentation
• Provide medical oversight of research activities and patient safety
• Assess and grade adverse events and serious adverse events as required
• Collaborate with Sponsors, CROs, Medical Monitors, research coordinators, and study teams
• Participate in Investigator Meetings, Site Initiation Visits, monitoring visits, audits, and regulatory activities
• Support clinical trial enrollment, retention, protocol compliance, and high-quality study conduct

Qualifications
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship
• Board Certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
• Current unrestricted Illinois medical license
• Eligible for hospital privileges and Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer enrollment
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

Preferred: Prior experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator, familiarity with FDA-regulated clinical research and ICH-GCP, community oncology experience, and/or experience supervising chemotherapy and infusion services.
