Medical Oncologist

Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist with a sub-specialty interest in GI/GU Oncology to join its established and growing practice. This role involves working closely with the GI/GU team across Danbury and New Milford locations, contributing to a rapidly expanding Cancer Institute. The position offers opportunities for clinical trials, research, and teaching, alongside a competitive compensation package.

• Part of Northwell Health, which includes 28 hospitals/cancer centers throughout western Connecticut and southeastern New York

• Provides tertiary oncology services and is accredited by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program

• Has state-of-the-art radiation oncology and Surgical specialty services in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology and Hepatobiliary Surgery

• Nurse navigation, genetic counseling and screening are available onsite

• Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital with 371 beds

• Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our GI/GU team in our Danbury and New Milford locations

• Pursue research and clinical trials

• Teaching of medicine residents and medical students

Compensation

• Highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives

• $475,000-$600,000 annually, relative to experience

• $50,000 Sign on bonus/retention package plus relocation allowance is available for full time candidates

Requirements

• Board certified/eligible in oncology

• Subspecialty interest and/or experience in GI/GU oncology
