Medical Dosimetrist/ Dosimetrist (Clinic)

A care giver with responsibility/accountability for radiation therapy dosimetry, accurately interpreting Radiation Oncologist's prescription, calculating and planning radiation treatments by use of treatment planning computer or hand calculations; providing support and care for the patient by use of competent technical skills, problem solving and in cooperation with other health care team membersEducation:
• Graduate of a medical dosimetry education program or on-the-job training with successful completion of the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
• Preferred: Graduate of an ARRT approved School of Radiation Therapy.

Skills:
• Competent in radiation therapy dosimetry and all associated tasks necessary to accomplish the accurate set-up, planning and delivery of ionizing radiation therapy for optimum delivery of radiation therapy.

• Required: Certified by Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board, C.
