Job Description

DOSIMETRIST - FULL TIME

LOCATION: Egg Harbor Township and Cape May Court House

The Dosimetrist is responsible for patient treatment simulation and treatment planning. Patient treatment simulation requires setting up the patient in an appropriate treatment position, acquiring computed tomography images and/or measurements necessary for treatment planning. Treatment planning is the process of placing radiation beams around the treatment area by computer or manual computation to deliver the radiation dose prescribed by the radiation oncologist.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
Qualifications

Education:
• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program required

License/Certification:
• Licensed in Radiation Therapy by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)
• Certified in Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with unrestricted credentials
• Must register and take CMD board exam within 5 years of start date
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required

Experience:
• Must have a minimum of three years full time experience as a staff radiation therapist.
• Must be a member of the American Society of Radiological Technologists (ASRT)
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire
Work Environment

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Requires the ability to position patients and utilize good body mechanics.
Reporting Relationship

This position reports to Radiation Oncology leadership.
