Job Description
Medical Director shall perform the following duties as required:
-Must be a physician who can provide current documentation that qualifies the person for the position through training and experience in rehabilitation. Medical Director must also be active in clinical practice that relates to the population served. Medical Director must be able to provide documentation and demonstrate currency in medical practice concerning the population served.
-Review 1/4 of resident nursing charts on a quarterly basis, or half of the charts on a monthly basis, assuring each chart is reviewed at least once per year.
-Meet with nursing staff at least once per quarter for an educational/chart critique session, after chart review.
-Participate in an review health and wellness and nursing policies and procedures once a year.
-Provide proof of advocacy and ongoing relationships development with the medical community.
-Provide nursing performance improvement activities and training as frequent as deemed necessary by the organization.
-Provide input on medical/nursing resource utilization management.
-Demonstrate efforts to promote DVRC's brain injury programs.
-Participate in strategic/financial planning for medical and nursing departments.
-Participate in active clinical practice relevant to brain injury and rehabilitation.
-Secure Psychiatric services for DVRC Residents that will accept resident's insurance to bill for services provided. Work collaboratively with all residents physicians for continuity of care.
-Will work in unison with Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Clinical Operations to create, review and revise written policy and procedure that are relevant to any medical or health related issues on a quarterly basis.
-Will advise regarding medication reviews, health concerns, and evaluations on a quarterly basis.
-Will assist in reviewing and assessing medically relevant reportable incidents on a quarterly basis.
-Will assist and advise with setting up performance improvement activities (i.e. Trainings) for nurses, staff, and residents at least annually.
-Will advise regarding health issues of admissions, discharges and referrals on an annual basis.
-Will act as a liaison between DVRC and the rest of the medical community.

Pay: $2,500.00 - $3,500.00 per month
