Medical Billing & Accounts Specialist

Slingsby & Huot Eye Associates is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing & Accounts Specialist to join our Rapid City, SD team. This in-office position focuses on accurate payment posting, insurance follow-up, patient account support, and other billing activities that help keep our revenue cycle running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities


- Accurately post insurance and patient payments
- Review outstanding insurance claims and follow up on unpaid or unresolved balances
- Monitor patient accounts and assist with account-related questions
- Respond to patient billing inquiries in a professional and helpful manner
- Perform medical billing and coding related to ophthalmology services as needed
- Maintain accurate billing and account records
- Assist with additional billing and revenue cycle responsibilities as needed
- Work closely with team members to resolve account issues and maintain an efficient billing process


Qualifications


- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
- Professional communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous medical billing experience preferred
- Medical coding experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to handle confidential patient and billing information appropriately
- Dependable attendance and a consistent, professional approach to work


Compensation & Benefits


- $19–$27 per hour, based on experience
