Medical Assistant-Radiation Therapy, Cancer Center
Non Exempt- Full Time
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.
Duties And Responsibilities
• Assist in giving patient care. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Strong blood draw skills a must.
• Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
• Operates and manages lab equipment including start-up, running controls & shut down as requested. Provides required reports.
• Experience with medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care.
• Perform common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintaining records and recording test results.
• Develop and maintain department quality assurance.
• Maintain quality control standards.
• Must be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate clearly.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Helps with CT prep.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Performs related work as required.
Qualifications And Experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Professional demeanor and courteous attitude with emphasis on customer service
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Involves standing and walking
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Requires normal range visual acuity and hearing
Education/ Training Requirements
• High School Graduate or GED
• CNA/Medical Assistant School graduate from accredited school or two years of work experience recommended
