Maria do Céu Diniz Borborema Celebrates Winning the SLAOP Young Oncologist Award
The SLAOP-ACHOP Congress 2025, held in Cali, Colombia from June 11–14, brought together pediatric oncology and hematology professionals from across Latin America.
Organized by the Latin American Society of Pediatric Oncology (SLAOP) and the Colombian Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (ACHOP), the event featured expert-led sessions, multidisciplinary panels, and educational forums focused on improving cancer care for children and adolescents in the region.

“In June, I participated in the Latin American Congress of Pediatric Oncology SLAOP-ACHOP 2025, which took place in Cali, Colombia, from June 11 to 14.
There, I won the SLAOP Young Oncologist award for my work:
‘Translation and Cross-Cultural Adaptation of Pediatric Early Warning Score – EVAT: Importance of the contributions of a Committee of Experts for better use of the scale in a continental country’.
