Title: Mainframe DevOps / Modernization Engineer

Location: Texas or Remote



JD:

Primary Platforms: Operating System and Hardware Services

Perform daily monitoring of assigned systems to validate availability, performance, and workload execution.


Provide incident response and recovery support for production services on a 7x24x365 basis.


Collaborate with developers and application teams during testing, deployment, and troubleshooting efforts.


Analyze system issues using logs, messages, and job output to determine root cause.


Implement approved system and operational changes following change management guidelines.


Ensure systems remain stable, recoverable, and aligned with service expectations.


Planning and installation of IBM Mainframes, DISK and Tape Hardware which includes Hardware Configuration and IOGENs.


Plan and install z/OS Operating System, apply maintenance, and IBM products (COBOL, Netview, System Automation, CICS, Db2, MQ, RACF, OMEGAMON) etc).


Storage Administration using SMS, RMM, HSM.

Setup replication of Storage (Disk and Tape) and perform Disaster Recovery.

Performance Management and tuning using SMF, RMF, WLM etc.
