Job Description
Hematologist/Oncologist
Seeking a Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist to provide full-time outpatient coverage with limited inpatient consult responsibilities. The provider will manage hematology and oncology patients, oversee infusion therapies, and participate in shared phone-only call coverage.
Compensation: Orientation - $505/hr, Hourly - $505/hr, Holiday Hourly - $760/hr, Night Call - $780, Holiday Night Call - $1,170, 24 Hour On Call - $3,505 per 24 hours, Holiday 24 Hour On Call - $5,260 per 24 hours, Call Back - $700/hr, Holiday Call Back - $1,050/hr.
Schedule
Full-time coverage
Candidates must be available at least 2 weeks per month
Monday–Thursday (most likely)
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Approximately 16 shifts per month
8-hour shifts
Shared phone-only call:
Approximately 1 weeknight call week per month
Approximately 1 weekend per month

Limited inpatient consults
Teaching opportunity available
Responsibilities
New consultations and follow-up visits
Oversee administration of antineoplastic therapies
Manage hematology and oncology patients
Perform bone marrow biopsies
Participate in shared phone-only call coverage
Inpatient consults as needed (hospitalists manage admissions)
Patient Volume
Clinic: 16–20 patients per day
Inpatient consults: 0–2 patients per day

Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology or
Board Certified in Medical Oncology with strong Hematology/Oncology experience
Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology
Active Iowa license or Active IMLC (LOQ accepted)
Available at least 2 weeks per month (Monday–Thursday)
Experienced candidates highly preferred (new graduates will also be considered)
Clean malpractice/background history
Additional Information
Four exam rooms per provider
Hospitalists manage admissions
Minimal inpatient responsibilities
Adjustable appointment lengths:
Follow-ups: 15–20 minutes
New consults: 60 minutes
Travel reimbursement available per policy
Estimated credentialing timeframe follows standard facility process.
