Job Description
Join a collaborative oncology team in Richmond, Indiana, providing high-quality, outpatient cancer care in a steady weekday locum tenens role. The position offers a predictable schedule, shared call responsibilities, and close collaboration with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and multidisciplinary staff.
Schedule and Setting
• Clinical days: Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
• Mondays off
• Practice: Outpatient oncology clinic with structured call coverage
Call Responsibilities
• Night call on select weekdays (schedule to be determined)
• Weekend call rotation (schedule to be determined)
• Serve as primary and backup physician for APPs during assigned call periods
Clinical Duties
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Create and oversee individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
• Provide follow-up care, monitor response to therapy, and manage complications
• Review laboratory, pathology, and imaging results to guide treatment decisions
• Collaborate with APPs, infusion staff, nurses, pharmacists, and consulting specialists to ensure coordinated care
• Support APPs clinically during call and maintain timely, accurate medical documentation
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
• Active Indiana medical license or eligibility via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Current BLS required; ACLS required if requesting conscious sedation privileges
• Current DEA registration, if applicable
