Locum Radiation Oncology Specialist

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver comprehensive radiation oncology care, including consultations, treatment planning, and follow-up for cancer patients.
• Interpret imaging results and coordinate patient care with oncology teams and referring providers.
• Develop and verify radiation treatment plans in conjunction with dosimetrists and medical physicists.
• Uphold evidence-based protocols, prioritize patient safety, and adhere to quality assurance standards.
• Document patient interactions, treatment responses, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
• Engage in tumor boards and care conferences to enhance individualized treatment approaches.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment options, potential side effects, and care expectations.
• Work closely with the Alumni Healthcare Staffing team to manage schedules and assignments across various facilities.
• Maintain active medical licensure, board certification, and compliance with all hospital bylaws and regulations.
• Foster a culture of integrity, responsiveness, and exceptional service in all interactions with patients and clients.

Required Skills
• Expertise in radiation oncology
• Experience in radiation treatment planning
• Familiarity with IMRT/VMAT techniques
• Knowledge of stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy
• Ability to interpret oncology imaging (CT/MRI/PET)
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Skills in toxicity management and survivorship care
• Capability in coordinating multidisciplinary care
• Commitment to quality assurance and patient safety in radiation therapy
• Strong communication skills for patient and family education
