Job Description
•
Schedule & Hours: Full-time clinic coverage, 5 days per week (8-hour day shifts). Clinic operations begin at 8:00 AM, with the first patient at 8:15/8:30 AM and the last patient at 3:30 PM. A 30-minute lunch break is included.
•
Call Coverage: Rotation operates at a 1:2 ratio. Includes night call 10 days per month (4:15 PM – 8:00 AM, averaging 2 to 3 phone consults between 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM) and weekend coverage 2 weekends per month (24-hour call block, including inpatient rounding). Call covers the ER and hospital teams.

Practice Setting & Case Mix: Combined clinic and hospital presence within a rural community setting. You will step into an already established patient panel.
•
Case Split: 60% Hematology and 40% Oncology.
•
Clinical Scope: Management of solid tumor oncology, benign hematology, and malignant hematology.
•
Admissions: Inpatient consult service only; hospitalists manage all primary patient admissions.
•
Procedures: Not required. Bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, port access, and BMT consults/care are not performed by the locum provider.
•
Infusion & Onsite Support: Features an onsite 14-chair infusion center, a 2-bed specialized infusion room, oncology-certified nursing staff, and onsite Radiation Oncology. Expect participation in disease-specific and general tumor boards.
•
Collaborative Team: Work alongside an established onsite team of 1.3 Hem/Onc physicians, 3 APPs, and dedicated clinical pharmacist support.
•
Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Fully integrated utilizing Epic charting software.
