Litigation Legal Assistant - Insurance Defense

We are looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant will support attorneys through all phases of insurance defense civil litigation, from initial case intake through discovery, trial preparation, and resolution. This role focuses primarily on managing matters involving personal injury, property damage, and professional liability while ensuring strict compliance with North Carolina state and federal court rules.





Responsibilities:


- Manage insurance defense civil litigation cases from intake through resolution.
- Organize, analyze, and create chronological summaries of medical, and billing records.
- Draft answers, motions, protective orders, interrogatories, and requests for production.
- Review discovery productions and prepare document indexes.
- Coordinate deposition schedules, subpoena third-party witnesses, and summarize transcripts.
- Manage exhibit boards and coordinate courthouse logistics.
- Execute electronic filings via the North Carolina e-filing portal.
- Communicate professionally with claims adjusters, corporate clients, and opposing counsel.
- Maintain daily billable hour logs in accordance with insurance carrier guidelines.






Qualifications:


- 1 year of experience in civil litigation, with insurance defense experience preferred.
- Understanding of North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
- Familiarity with billing hours and electronic timekeeping systems.
- Strong written communication, time-management, and multitasking skills.
