Role Description The Laboratory Technician Cosmetics role is a full-time, on-site position based in Paterson, NJ. The technician supports daily laboratory operations, including preparing samples, mixing and batching cosmetic formulations, and operating standard lab equipment such as balances, pH meters, mixers, and centrifuges. Responsibilities include performing routine tests, recording and analyzing data, following established protocols, and assisting with stability, compatibility, and performance testing of cosmetic products. The role also involves adhering to safety and quality procedures, maintaining clean and organized workspaces, labeling and storing samples correctly, and collaborating with scientists and production staff to meet project timelines. The technician may help with documentation for quality control, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications






- Previous Cosmetics lab experience is required.
- Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills and experience working as laboratory technicians in a scientific or cosmetics environment.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with laboratory equipment, including basic setup, calibration, safe operation, and routine maintenance.
- Candidates should possess quality control skills, including following test protocols, documenting results accurately, and supporting product safety and compliance.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret test data, identify variances, and communicate findings clearly to supervisors or project teams.
- Relevant skills and qualifications include familiarity with cosmetic formulation or related chemical products, knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions consistently.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, cosmetic science, or a related field, or equivalent practical laboratory experience, is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights as needed for lab work, and comply with safety and hygiene requirements, including use of personal protective equipment.
