Job Description
Cytotechnologist
Schedule
Typically Monday to Friday, 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM; no weekends, no call, and no holidays.
Assignment Details
No specific contract length or guaranteed hours mentioned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Cytotechnology, chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science AND Certification as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP), scat (ASCP), or CT (CMIAC).
• OR a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science AND graduation from a CAHEA approved school of Cytotechnology.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting.
• High volume lab experience required.
• Hologic/ThinPrep certification required; must be Hologic Imager trained with proof of training.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system.
Responsibilities
• Microscopically examine a wide variety of cellular body specimens to identify abnormal cellular changes indicative of inflammatory, premalignant, malignant, or other conditions.
• Ensure accuracy, precision, and timeliness in assessments based on knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Utilize specialized training acquired through undergraduate and postgraduate education.
• Maintain thorough documentation and perform analysis within established protocols.
