Hospice & Palliative Medicine PhysicianLocation: Binghamton, NYPosition/Practice Join an established and collaborative team of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, and an Administrative Director Supportive environment with continued mentorship and participation in Interdisciplinary Team Rounding Opportunity to help grow collaborative relationships with hospital and specialty departments to enhance primary palliative care delivery Support the Administrative Director in developing new outpatient initiatives, enhancing service lines, and improving operational workflows Contribute to strategic planning, program expansion, and evaluation of palliative care clinical models Participate in initiatives involving clinical design, business modeling, productivity, quality, patient experience, and equityClinical Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient palliative care consultations, evaluations, and follow-up visits Perform physical examinations and interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests Identify clinical problems and formulate evidence-based care plans Manage complex symptoms including:oPainoDyspneaoMood-related symptomsoNauseaoFunctional decline Utilize both pharmacologic and integrative approaches to symptom management Lead goals-of-care discussions and advance care planning in partnership with patients, caregivers, and referring clinicians Deliver patient-centered, values-aligned care in a supportive, team-based outpatient environment Perform other assigned clinical duties as determined by the Medical DirectorProgram Development & Quality Participate in regulatory readiness activities Contribute to quality improvement projects Assist in developing clinical best-practice guidelines Support program expansion and evaluation of palliative care clinical models Help enhance service lines and improve operational workflowsEducation & Research Participate as a clinical educator in the instruction and supervision of:oMedical StudentsoInternal Medicine ResidentsoFamily Medicine ResidentsoGeriatric Medicine Fellows Participate in clinical research activities as determined by the Administrative Director of the ServiceQualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Palliative Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible in a pertinent primary medical specialty, such as:oInternal MedicineoFamily MedicineoOther applicable specialties Able to obtain and maintain medical licensure in New York StateCompensation Salary Range: $280,563-$300,000 annuallyAbout Binghamton, NY Located in the Southern Tier of Upstate New York Approximately 2.5 hours north of New York City and 1 hour from Syracuse University community with a strong healthcare presence Safe and diverse community Nearby lakes, ski resorts, golf courses, and wineries Access to cultural and recreational activities, including a symphony orchestra and opera company
