Job Overview
Shores Hospice is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Hospice Clinical Supervisor to lead our interdisciplinary care team in delivering exceptional end-of-life care. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient comfort, dignity, and family support. The ideal candidate must be an experienced Hospice Registered Nurse, possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical expertise, and a passion for providing empathetic hospice services. Duties
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the hospice care team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and aides
• IDG oversite
• Ensure all patient assessments, care plans, and medical documentation adhere to state healthcare regulations and HIPAA standards
• Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and pain management protocols to maintain high-quality patient care
• Monitor compliance with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and billing
• Conduct regular team meetings to promote communication, provide mentorship, and facilitate ongoing education on topics like dementia care, hospice policies
• Quality Assurance
• Manage staffing schedules, oversee patient intake processes, and coordinate with physicians for diagnostic evaluations and treatment adjustments
• Ensure infection control practices are followed rigorously across all clinical activities
• Field Visits as needed
• After hours support
Experience
• Proven supervisory experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on hospice or palliative care
• Extensive clinical background
• Strong familiarity with medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and advanced patient assessment techniques
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems; proficiency in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is highly desirable
• Background working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and memory/dementia care
• Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations related to hospice
• Skills in managing complex cases
• Demonstrated ability to lead through effective communication strategies such as managerial communication and nursing policy compliance
