Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Mayo Clinic Health System Minnesota is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Medical Oncology practice in Albert Lea, with planned outreach care to Owatonna. This role involves direct patient care and telemedicine services within a physician-led, multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will collaborate with Medical Oncologists and a comprehensive care team to provide clinical care to cancer patients.

Practice Info

• Physician-led team of board-certified Hematology and Oncology physicians

• Multi-disciplinary team of cancer care professionals focused on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of various types of cancer

• Weekly tumor boards and clinical research trials are part of the practice

• Outpatient setting, and may provide infusion center support

Responsibilities

• Obtain Hematology/Oncology specific histories and physicals

• Order, interpret, diagnose, and communicate diagnostic results to patients and care team members

• Devise and implement treatment care plans

• Facilitate and deliver patient education regarding Hematology/Oncology conditions

• Provide Hematology/Oncology follow-up care

Requirements

• 1+ years of APP experience in Medical Hematology/Oncology is required

• Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program

• Nurse Practitioner: Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP

• Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice

• Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date

• DEA registration required
