Job Description
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medical Oncology are seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist to join the Elkins Corridor Medical Center. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a growing hematology and oncology program, expanding cancer care access in a medically underserved community. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive patient care and contribute to the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Practice Info
• Elkins Corridor Medical Center is launching new hematology and oncology services to expand cancer care access in the region.
• The program will provide on-site evaluation and management of a broad range of hematologic and oncologic conditions, with access to infusion services.
• The physician will be supported by WVU Cancer Institute’s robust subspecialty network and clinical trials infrastructure.
• Opportunities to collaborate across the state are available.
• Elkins Corridor Medical Center offers lab work, primary care, infusion services, and walk-in Family Medicine with extended and weekend hours, plus advanced imaging and rotating specialty clinics.
Responsibilities
• Practice in the areas of Hematology/Oncology.
• Provide excellent patient care.
• Be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, with anticipated travel.
Requirements
• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
• Eligible for state medical license.
• Completed an Internal Medicine residency program.
• Completed a Hematology/Oncology fellowship program.
• Board certified/eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.
• No visa sponsorship available.
