Hematologist/Oncologist

St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Physician - Hematology/Oncology to serve Veterans across its Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations in Brainerd, Alexandria, and Montevideo, Minnesota. This role is based out of Alexandria, MN, and requires at least 75% travel between clinics. The position offers eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), providing student loan payment reimbursement.

Practice Info

• Serves Veterans at Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations: Brainerd, Alexandria, and Montevideo.

• Position is full-time, based out of the Alexandria, MN location.

• Requires at least 75% travel between all clinics.

• Operates within a Whole Health System of care, focusing on personalized health plans for Veterans.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation services and follow-up for Primary Specialty Medicine (PSM) patients in the outpatient setting.

• Participates in special projects pertinent to the assigned sub-specialty.

• Provides clinical oversight and review if assigned as a supervising or collaborating physician for a mid-level provider.

• Submits timely documentation in accordance with departmental policy and enters progress notes on all patients.

• Provides quality of care that meets professional standards.

• Works within privileges at all times, unless necessitated by an emergency.

Compensation

• Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

• Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Authorized: up to $200,000 over one to five years.

• Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement for CME (must be full-time with board certification).

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved school.

• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any US State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

• Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology (Preferred).

• Hematology/Oncology Experience (Preferred).

• Must possess a valid state driver's license.
