Hematologist/Oncologist

Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Hematology and Oncology Physician to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to its patients. This role involves delivering high-standard, ethical patient care, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all institutional policies. The physician will lead patient care issues and be ultimately responsible for patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to CAMC patients in the field of Hematology and Oncology in compliance with the highest standards of medical art and science, and within ethical standards of conduct.

• Take the lead in all patient care issues and be ultimately responsible for the outcome of the encounter.

• Comply with all Policies as outlined by CAMC Human Resources and Office of Corporate Compliance.

• Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care which meet all necessary documentation, correspondence, and coding requirements.

• Maintain active status (category I) with regards to clinical privileges at CAMC.

• Relate appropriately with patients, staff, corporate management, medical staff, and co-workers.

• Remain current in medical/surgical knowledge as well as applicable legal and regulatory issues.

Requirements

• Medical Degree (Required)

• MD or DO (or an international medical graduate degree equivalent qualifying for entry to a US Graduate Medical Education program and ABMS/AOA Certification eligibility).

• Board Certified or Board Eligible American Board of Internal Medicine.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible American Board of Hematology and Oncology.

• Possess/obtain and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.

• Demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.
