Key Responsibilities
• Perform and interpret a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including PET scans and SPECT scans, tailored to diverse medical conditions.
• Collaborate with radiologic technologists to prioritize patient comfort and safety during all imaging procedures.
• Analyze and interpret imaging results to deliver precise diagnoses and recommend effective treatment options.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate patient records, consistently adhering to documentation protocols to support quality assurance initiatives.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and practices.
• Participate in quality assurance programs that uphold imaging accuracy and ensure patient safety, thereby contributing to the ongoing improvement of our diagnostic services.
• Effectively communicate imaging findings to referring physicians, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care management and treatment planning.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will have the privilege of working with a diverse patient population that includes individuals facing a range of medical challenges—from cancer to cardiac issues. Your expertise in nuclear medicine will directly impact the detection and management of critical health conditions, leading to timely interventions and improved patient outcomes.
Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of residency training in a core specialty recognized for eligibility for board certification.
• Possession of a valid, unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.
• Current certification and active practice ability in the field of nuclear medicine.
• Strong capability in interpreting nuclear imaging and applying clinical knowledge to derive patient management strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to educate patients about imaging processes and discuss findings with healthcare colleagues.
• Demonstrated commitment to a holistic, patient-centered care philosophy while adhering to radiation safety practices.
Preferred Experience
• Comprehensive expertise in clinical nuclear medicine, including nuclear cardiology and radionuclide therapy.
• Experience administering unsealed source radionuclide therapies for various cancers, including but not limited to thyroid, neuroendocrine, prostate, and liver tumors.
• Familiarity with hybrid imaging techniques, such as PET/CT and SPECT/CT, is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 500,000 to 600,000, commensurate with experience and expertise. Liberty Health Medical Center offers an exceptional benefits package which includes:
