Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant | Outpatient Oncology

JOB DETAILS:

As part of the job requirements, the selected candidate will be expected to be present at Wesley Long Hospital for three days each week and at Drawbridge Campus for the remaining two days. The position is classified as exempt, meaning the individual will receive a salary without entitlement to overtime compensation. The FTE for this role is fixed at one, signifying a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week during the standard office hours of 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. No on-call responsibilities are associated with this position

Essential Job Function:
• Undertakes patient assessments, evaluates their medical past, and interprets diagnostic test results to administer necessary treatments for patients.
• Carries out preventive health assessments customized to the patient's age, medical history, and distinct health care needs for proactive medical intervention.
• Offers guidance to patients and their relatives on specific medical conditions, therapy choices, and ongoing medical supervision.
• Maintains comprehensive documentation of patient care to uphold precise patient records.
• Conducts distinct medical interventions in compliance with departmental regulations and clinical obligations in both inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities.
• The improvement of inpatient and outpatient specialty care involves the identification and resolution of clinical and systemic issues through assessment and problem-solving.
• Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.

Education:
• Required: Master's degree Nursing or Master's degree Physician Assistant studies. Physician Assistant employed at Cone Health prior to October 14, 2024, with a Bachelor's degree will have Master's degree requirement waived provided they have maintained employment and PA licensure with Board Certification.

• Preferred: 3+ years

Licensure/Certification/Listing:
• Required: Valid NC RN and Nurse Midwife or NP license OR NC PA license Board Certified within 1 year of date of hire by either the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PA's OR the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Certification Corporation (NCC) for NP's OR the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Certification required for Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers IVC Certified within 90 days of employment for Behavioral Health Advance Practice Provider Must possess and maintain a current, unrestricted DEA registration in accordance with federal and state regulations.
