Executive Director - Specialty Infusion and Oncology Pharmacy Services

In this role, the Executive Director of Specialty Infusion & Oncology Pharmacy Services is accountable for providing strategic, operational, and clinical direction for system-wide pharmacy services. This encompasses overseeing oncology, specialty, and infusion services and the associated teams to facilitate their prosperity. The main responsibility involves formulating and executing an inclusive pharmacy care model that is centered around the patient and extends over various settings to formulate a comprehensive approach to managing expensive medications. Moreover, the Executive Director is tasked with developing and guiding enterprise-wide strategies that concentrate on pharmaceutical management, growth of services, optimization of medication access, and delivery of value-based care.
Essential Job Function:
• Takes charge of a comprehensive strategy for managing oncology and high-cost medications across the system, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficiency.
• Supervises oncology and specialty infusion pharmacy services across all locations by adhering to a set of governmental, legal, and quality standards through active participation in committees and implementation of relevant activities.
• Takes charge of expanding pharmacy services through the establishment of connections with insurance providers and drug producers.
• Responsible for the development of infusion services in oncology and biologics, with a focus on home infusion offerings.
• Supervises system-level services for medication accessibility and assistance, encompassing tasks such as prior authorization and aiding patients. Engages in collaboration with stakeholders from different areas of the organization.
• Analyzes and enforces standard policies and procedures to encourage conformity with regulations and enhance quality on a broader scale. Fosters a data-centric environment throughout the organization by introducing key performance indicators to propel essential business activities. Utilizes technology and innovative strategies where suitable to enhance efficiency and enhance patient care.
• In charge of managing all human resource tasks aimed at constructing and nurturing a thriving team. Ensuring the department creates and upholds patient-focused clinical abilities which staff consistently achieve. Establishing successful teams and promoting a culture of innovation.
• Maintains regulatory conformity and clinical superiority in alignment with ASHP criteria for the enhancement of all Cone Health residency programs, notably the PGY2 Oncology program.
• Handles the financial aspects of performance, budgeting, and revenue flow.
Education:
• Required: Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.

• Preferred: Master's Degree (MBA, MHA, MS)

Experience:
• Required: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive hospital pharmacy management experience.

• Preferred: Specialty, infusion, or oncology pharmacy leadership experience

Licensure/Certification/Listing:
• Required: Active NC pharmacist license or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

• Preferred: BCOP, CSP or relevant board certification.
