Job Description
Position Summary

The co-op student will work on assignments related to their engineering discipline. These assignments provide learning opportunities and value for the PCC organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• The student applies principles learned in school to hands-on situations, such as equipment and facilities design and improvement.
• Assume progressive responsibility in facilities engineering during the co-op.
• Identify and recommend equipment improvements for specified projects.
• Attend regular departmental meetings.
• Attend training sessions, symposiums, and other educational opportunities.
• Perform or review procedures and documentation for maintenance tasks.
• Take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
• Participate on project teams; analyze improvements and new equipment or applications and develop requirements and specifications with the team.
• Work within specifications to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new equipment development, upgrades, and energy conservation opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and SolidWorks.
• Good writing skills and interpersonal skills.
Education and/or Experience
• Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Work Environment
• Co-op will spend 50–60% of time in the manufacturing plant.
• Minimal travel may be required.
Other Benefits
• Co-ops are paid $24 per hour / 40 hours a week.
• Given top priority for future co-op rotations and full-time positions.
