Join Amgen's mission of serving patients living with serious illnesses. Since 1980, we've pioneered the biotechnology industry, fighting against the world's toughest diseases. With our focus on Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease, we reach millions of patients each year. As a member of the Amgen team, you'll help make a lasting impact on the lives of patients as we research, manufacture, and deliver innovative medicines to help people live longer, fuller, happier lives.

### What You'll Do

In this vital role, you'll be the liaison to our customers by providing clinical knowledge of our products to medical professionals. Your territory covers Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York. You'll need strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other Amgen business units including District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Directors, and Corporate Account Managers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include tracking the progress of marketing messages and programs, providing feedback to district teams on marketing and resource allocation, and managing district teams to maximize their performance and help achieve or exceed sales and budget targets. You'll screen, interview, and hire candidates, ensuring compliance with training while demonstrating appropriate coaching and counseling to prepare individuals for future development.

You'll conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments, communicate and coordinate with both district and cross-functional teams including Marketing, Finance, and other Business Units. Your role includes sharing best practices with direct reports and peers, coordinating and participating in cluster teams, conducting district sales meetings to guide districts, and developing local Opinion Leader relationships to achieve aligned objectives.

### What We're Looking For

We seek a go-getter with one of the following combinations: a Doctorate degree and 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or a Master's degree and 6 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or a Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or an Associate's degree and 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience; or a High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Sales/Marketing experience. Additionally, you must have 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.

Preferred qualifications include three or more years of specialty sales experience, experience in oncology, and buy and bill model experience. You should demonstrate the ability to consistently and objectively recognize and promote success behaviors, as well as diagnose and change unsatisfactory behaviors through effective coaching. The ideal candidate can leverage market and customer knowledge to strategically target messages, resources, and activities within the territory, demonstrates knowledge of local payor coverage, and understands and articulates clinical concepts, data, and conclusions.

You'll have demonstrated ability to utilize clinical information to effectively address customer questions and objections, recruit candidates that meet the minimum job criteria, and interview and hire sales representatives capable and committed to fulfilling job requirements. Strong sense of responsibility, demonstrated self-discipline, and the ability to set appropriate short-term and long-term objectives are essential. Success in communicating and collaborating with sales staff, peers, and business unit counterparts in an effective and timely manner is critical.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $173,179.00 to $234,301.00 USD. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
