## Director, Navigation Integration — American Cancer Society, Inc.

Cancer care is complex and rapidly changing. Patients and caregivers face emotional, physical, and logistical challenges in the pursuit of high-quality care. The Navigation business unit leads initiatives that improve cancer care delivery for patients, caregivers, and health care professionals while mitigating the suffering caused by a cancer diagnosis. Oncology navigation supports timely, coordinated, and person-centered care and is scientifically demonstrated to improve patient outcomes. Recent changes in reimbursement models have opened a pathway for the expansion of equitable, high quality, sustainable navigation. ACS has been a leader and supporter of navigation since it was conceptualized at the ACS 1989 Hearings on Cancer and the Poor.
As part of the Patient Support Pillar, this position directs initiatives to support the adoption and integration of navigation, including workforce development and training, leveraging program assets and capabilities of ACS to address barriers to high quality cancer care. This role applies knowledge and skills in planning, executing, and evaluating training curriculum and other key initiatives, in collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders. You may lead or contribute to other navigation activities as part of ACS’ comprehensive strategy, serve as one of the ACS leads for patient navigation efforts, and act as a resource to other ACS departments to ensure appropriate integration of activities. This position represents ACS externally through collaborative initiatives, and models and practices ACS’ health equity principles in all work.
We expect this role to be NC Home Based and the person in this role must be able to travel occasionally.
In collaboration with the VP, Navigation and other key stakeholders, you will:
- Serve as a subject matter expert to lead the design and execution of program activities, manage workflows, develop program resources, oversee daily operations and spending, and provide regular reports and updates to stakeholders. (35%)
- Oversee data collection, develop data reports, lead program evaluation, identify areas for program and process improvement, and support ongoing dissemination of work through internal and external channels. (25%)
- Build and manage relationships with key partners, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to maximize program utilization, facilitating cross-department communication and collaboration. (20%)
- Provide guidance, coordination, and oversight to ensure the team functions effectively and remains aligned with program goals. (20%)

- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree with 8 years relevant experience acceptable
- Preferred Degree: Master's Degree
- Certificate(s) or License(s): N/A
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating public health or patient care programs.
- Minimum 3-5 years of people leader or supervisory experience.

- Knowledge of the principles and practices of patient navigation.
- Knowledge of cancer, cancer control, and cancer care delivery.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design.
- Knowledge of the operations and management of health systems.
- Knowledge of program management and grants management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines and maintain schedules for deliverables related to multiple projects.
- Ability to interact, collaborate, and effectively communicate across multiple projects and stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and priorities, operational efficiencies, and organizational impact.
- Ability to conduct program evaluation, interpret data, and make data-driven programmatic decisions.
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize new opportunities, set strategic goals, and determine the best allocation of resources to achieve organizational goals and optimize performance.
- Ability to supervise and provide leadership to staff in multiple locations.
- Ability to speak knowledgeably about the Society's mission, priorities, and cancer care delivery strategies in a wide variety of settings.
