Director, MSL Lead, Oncology will play a pivotal role by integrating scientific expertise with brand strategies to implement the Company's commercial and emerging product portfolio effectively. This position leads and supports the activities of the Oncology Field Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) across the United States, driving clinical, strategic, and business objectives. The incumbent will develop and implement hiring and training strategies for field MSLs, strengthen key opinion leader strategies, and enhance relationships with advocates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accountable for the medical strategy in the field, ensuring successful execution of the Field MSL organization's objectives.
• Lead, manage, and mentor the Field MSLs to foster a culture of trust and collaboration, empowering teams to achieve results.
• Monitor and ensure appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information to stakeholders.
• Oversee engagement opportunities with Key Opinion Leaders in relevant therapeutic areas.
• Develop and execute a customer-centric regional engagement plan that aligns with Medical Affairs goals.
• Ensure proper documentation of healthcare professional interactions and responses to requests.
• Collect and share insights with Medical Affairs and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Participate in implementing effective departmental systems and initiatives.
• Mentor and evaluate MSL performance to maximize team value.
• Supervise territory and key account plans and the clinical positioning of product lines regionally.
• Provide clinical support for commercial training, marketing efforts, and professional services.
• Maintain expertise in prostate cancer and hematology, including current treatment strategies and competitor developments.
• Ensure collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams while adhering to compliance and regulatory guidelines.
• Manage team adherence to ethical standards and compliance in scientific promotion activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional members to align medical perspectives with commercial strategies.
• Deliver consistent performance feedback based on customer interactions and metrics.
• Act as an advocate for field teams, promoting collaboration and effective communication across internal and external stakeholders.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced degree in medical science (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD) in a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, including pharmaceutical MSL experience; experience managing MSLs is preferred.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience.
• Understanding of oncological and therapeutic issues related to prostate cancer and hematology.
• Patient care experience in oncology/hematology is a plus.
• Knowledge of drug lifecycle development and the ability to interact with key decision-makers.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Leadership capabilities in managing teams and disseminating information effectively.
• Timeliness in decision-making under pressure.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to translate customer needs into actionable results.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
• Willingness to travel 50% or more.
The base salary range for this role is $199,800.00 - $249,800.00, complemented by merit raises, incentive plans, and additional benefits. Our time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 holidays, and a shut-down period at the end of December, alongside paid sick time. Total compensation will depend on candidates' unique experiences and skills.
