Manage quality control for treatment and imaging units, ensuring precision, safety, and compliance with standards from AAPM, JCAHO, NRC, MDCH, ALARA, and OSHA.

Guide and support physicists and dosimetrists on complex treatment planning and dosimetry, offering mentorship to foster professional growth and expertise. Help integrate innovative technology and treatment methods, keeping our department at the cutting edge of radiation therapy. Engage in process improvements, policy development for radiation safety, and radiation safety committee activities to uphold top-tier quality and safety standards.

Certification or eligible for certification by the American Board of Radiology in Radiological Physics or Therapeutic Radiology Physics, or comparable certification by the American College of Medical Physics. Master's Degree is Medical Physics required, Ph.The Medical Physicist works closely with the radiation oncologists, chief medical physicist, head of physics division and department manager to ensure the highest standards of physics services. not limited to, the overview and quality control of all treatment calculations for treatment; of, and consultation with, the physicists and dosimetrists on computer treatment planning and any determination of the radiation output of all radiation therapy treatment units, and all other duties as they relate to the operation of radiation within the Radiation Oncology departments. 35%) Oversees all aspects of radiation oncology treatment planning and dosimetry, including indirect supervision of the physicist associate and medical dosimetrists.
